How to Edit This Wiki

  1. Open the page you want to change.
  2. Click Edit this page at the bottom of the page.
  3. Make your edit in the browser — no software to install.
  4. Write one line describing what you changed and why.
  5. Save. A reviewer is notified automatically.

That is it. You do not need to know anything about websites.

  • Never type a dose, threshold, or time from memory. Copy it from a source and cite it.
  • Never paste text from a paywalled or no-derivatives source.
  • Never delete a warning or a citation to make a page look tidier.

Two ways, pick whichever suits you:

Method Best for What you need
Suggest an edit Most people. A form for each page, with a preview. Nothing at all
Edit in the repository Maintainers comfortable with Markdown. Fixes a typo in ten seconds. A GitHub account with access

Suggest an edit is the link at the bottom of every page. It opens the page in an editor built for people rather than for programmers. There is no account, no login and no GitHub.

What you can change — all of it:

  • the page title and the one-line summary that appears under it
  • every section heading, and you can rename, reorder, add or delete whole sections
  • bullets, paragraphs, tables and note boxes — every one is a box you type in
  • anything you would rather write yourself: switch to Advanced: write this page freely at the top and restructure the page however you like. A short list of the marks worth knowing sits above the text.

Nothing on the page is hidden from you, and nothing is locked. If you dislike the house structure, replace it — the format is a starting point, not a rule.

When you publish, the page updates within about a minute and the people who look after that section are told. If someone else edited the same page while you were writing, you will be asked to reload rather than losing your work.

Use Add a page, or the Add a new page link at the top of the editor. It asks two things before it writes anything:

  1. What kind of page is it? A clinical topic, a procedure, red flags for a system, a core skill, a tool, or a general reference page. This decides the skeleton you start from.
  2. Where does it belong? A system, or one of the wiki’s sections. Every page has to live somewhere, so it cannot be created outside the menu.

Then give it a title, and you land straight in the editor with the skeleton filled in. New pages appear in the menu by themselves — nothing else to update.

If a page with that name already exists, you will be offered the existing page to edit instead.

It works, but a phone is for reading. If you spot something wrong on shift, use Report an issue — a one-line note is enough.
