Wiki FAQ
The wiki itself
Section titled “The wiki itself”Do I need an account? No. The site is public to the department. Editing requires a login, which you get on request.
Does it work offline? Yes, for any page you have already opened. The wiki installs a small offline cache the first time you visit. After that, the pages you have read stay readable with no signal at all — which matters in the basement, in the ambulance bay, and when the wifi drops mid-shift.
You do not have to do anything to switch this on, but for the full benefit install it:
Is there an app? On iPhone, install it from Safari — Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, Chrome menu → Add to Home screen. You get a UPH ED APP icon that opens full-screen like any other app, with no address bar. Chrome on iPhone cannot install it; Safari can.
Does it use a lot of data or battery? No. There is no video, no advertising, and no analytics script. Pages are a few kilobytes.
How do I know the page is current? Every page shows when it was last updated. The Curriculum Map shows which topics have been written and signed off by the curriculum committee.
Can I print a page? Yes — each page prints cleanly. Use the print button in your browser.
Contributing
Section titled “Contributing”I have never edited a website. Can I still help? Yes. Report an issue counts. So does telling the maintainers which page confused you.
How long does a change take to appear? About a minute after it is approved.
Who owns this wiki? The department does — see Contact & Feedback for the current maintainers. It began as a research project; see About this project.
Something looks broken. Report it. Include the page and what you saw.
